Farmers Branch To Become Part Of Postal System

At 10 a.m. Friday, the Farmers Branch post office will officially become part of the Dallas postal system with formal opening ceremonies.
Dallas Postmaster J. Howard Payne, who will preside at the ceremonies, said the 2,000 postal patrons in the area-the new Postal Zone 34-now will receive mail deliveries to home, office or store for the first time.
One carrier will deliver the mail by foot and truck at first, Payne said, Acting Supt. Roland E. Cobb also will supervise one full-time clerk.
