OBITUARY

Lura Bailey
WOLFE CITY - Lura Jewel Bailey, 92, of Carrollton died Tuesday at IHS Heritage Gardens Nursing Home in Carrollton following a long illness. Funeral services will be at First Baptist Church of Carrollton at 10 a.m. Friday with Dr. Wayne Allen, Rev. Bobby Martin and Dr. Brent Taylor officiating. Burial will be in Mt. Carmel Cemetery in Wolfe City. She was born April 20, 1909, in Carrollton to Earl and Willie D. Fyke Skiles. On July 20, 1929, she was married to Rev. G. B. Bailey in Dallas. She was a member of the Perry family who were original settlers of Carrollton. Her husband was the minister at First Baptist Church in Wolfe City and they lived in Wolfe City from 1949 to 1953. Mrs. Bailey was a member of First Baptist Church in Carrollton and was a member of Eastern Star.
Surviving are a daughter, Mary Fletcher of Carrollton; two grandchildren, Beverly Guillory of The Colony and Joe Fletcher of Garland; three great-grandchildren, Eric Guillory of The Colony and Jeff Fletcher and Leanne Fletcher of Garland.
Deacons of First Baptist Church of Carrollton will serve as pallbearers.
Memorials may be made to the First Baptist Church of Carrollton Building Fund.
R.W. Owens & Son Funeral Home of Wolfe City is in charge of arrangements.
