Nancy Annette Barkley, of Little Elm, passed away August 29, 2013.
She was born May 29, 1943 to Ruth and Edward Barkley. Nancy was a resident of Little Elm for over 10 years.

She is survived by her sister, Ginny Barkley Roberts; two brothers, Martin and Brian; and numerous beloved cousins and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents.

A Graveside service was held September 28, 2013 at Meador-Klement-Keel, Gainesville, TX.

Nancy Annette Barkley died August 29, 2013 at Collinsville Care Center. She was born May 29, 1943 in Gainesville, Texas, the daughter of Edward Phillip and Ruth (Durham) Barkley. Nancy was a graduate of Carrollton High School and Texas Women's University in Denton. She had worked as a Social Worker for the Department of Public Welfare and as a Case Officer for the Board of Pardons and Parole.

Graveside services for Ms. Barkley were 10:00 a.m. Friday September 27th at Fairview Cemetery. Pastor Brian Barkley, of Edmonson Baptist Church Edmonson, Texas officiated.

Survivors of Nancy Annette Barkley include her sister, Ginny Roberts of Little Elm, and brothers, Martin Barkley of Fort Worth and Brian Barkley of Plainview. She was preceded in death by her parents, Edward and Ruth Barkley.

Nancy loved her family and had many friends. No one was a stranger to her. Everyone who knew her also knew of her love for horses and all things western.

OBITUARY FOR NANCY'S MOTHER
 
Myra Barkley

GAINESVILLE — Services for Myra Ruth Durham Barkley, 79, of Gainesville will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at Clement-Keel Chapel with the Rev. Brian Barkley and the Rev. J. L. Williams of First Baptist Church officiating.

Burial will be in Fairview Cemetery in Gainesville.

She died Sunday, Feb. 11, 2001, at Gainesville Memorial Hospital. She was born Sept. 26, 1921. She was a homemaker and a member of First Baptist Church in Gainesville.

She married Edward Phillip Barkley on Oct. 25, 1941, in Gainesville. He died 1992.

Survivors include two sons, Martin R. of Gainesville, Brian of Plainview; two daughters, Nancy Annette Barkley of The Colony, and Ginny Roberts of The Colony; and seven grandchildren.

The family will receive guests from 7 p.m. to 8 p.m. today at Clement-Keel Funeral Home.
