OBITUARY

Sandra Lee Bees
June 1, 1958 - April 25, 2022

It is with great sadness that the Simpson family announce the passing of Sandra (Sandy) Lee Bees, Monday, April 25, 2022. She was 63 years
old.

Sandy was born June 1, 1958 in Miami, Florida to Thomas and Martina Bees. She was the youngest of three girls. In 1968, her family relocated to Dallas, Texas and in 1976 Sandy graduated from R.L. Turner High School. At the age of 20 she met and married Troy Dean Simpson in Dallas, Texas and gave birth to Jacob Daniel and Jonathon Michael before relocating to Broken Arrow, OK.

Sandy found her calling. In 1989, she earned her BSN degree at Langston University and began her career as a Registered Nurse. She worked for St. Francis Hospital as an OR trauma nurse and OR circulator where she affectionally earned the nickname "night nurse from hell." Sandy had an adventurous soul and embarked on her journey to see the country. She accomplished her goals by becoming a traveling nurse, working in hospitals across the country. Sandy moved back home to Oklahoma in 2014 to be close to family, and shortly thereafter she resumed her role in the OR at St. John Medical Center.
As an OR nurse for 30 years, the number of patients’ lives she positively impacted is immeasurable and is a reflection of the passion she demonstrated for nursing.

She was a very independent and strong-willed woman. Beyond her desire for adventure, she loved spending time with her family and friends on her boat out on Ft. Gibson lake, enjoying life to the fullest.

Even in death, Sandy was committed to improving the lives and minds of others, and she donated her body to science. She will be greatly missed by her family, coworkers, and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Thomas & Martina Bees. Sandy is survived by her sons Jake Simpson and John Simpson; grandchildren Gage (22), Jackson (15), Kenadee (12), Jayden (21 mos.) &; Logan (21 mos.); and sisters Julie and Dorothy.

There will be a memorial service to celebrate Sandy in the upcoming weeks. Family will post the event information on her Facebook page
(Sandra Bees).
