OBITUARY   Joe Blankenship December 15, 1943 - November 13, 2008 Joe Blankenship, age 64 of Royse City, TX, passed away November 13, 2008. He was born December 15, 1943, in Dallas. TX, to John Martin and Edna Mae (Allen) Blankenship. Joe married Evelyn Akins in Dallas, TX, on August 18, 1961, and they enjoyed raising two children. He was in charge of maintenance at Paty Meat Company in Dallas, TX, and was ordained as a minister three years ago. Joe attended Family Bible Church.\n\nJoe is survived by his wife: Evelyn Blankenship of Royse City, TX; daughter: Lana Rathmell & husband Dwight of Rockwall, TX; son: John Blankenship & wife Jan of Royse City, TX; sisters: Mary Perry & husband Charles of Highland Village, TX, Sarah Birdwell & husband Mike of Lake Whitney, TX, and Bernice Evett & husband Leonard of San Augustine, TX; brother: Charlie Blankenship of Farmers Branch, TX; and granddaughter: Tyler Hoedebeck & husband Andrew of Mesquite, TX. He was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers.\n\nFuneral services will be held 2:00pm, Saturday, November 15, 2008, at Rest Haven Funeral Home-Rockwall Chapel with Dr. Aubrey Patterson officiating. Interment will follow in Pleasant Ridge Cemetery. The family will receive friends Friday evening at the funeral home from 6:00 to 8:00pm.
