The family receives friends from 7 to 8:30 p.m. Monday, at the home of Juanell Ramsey 383 FM 2648 Powderly.

He was born March 21, 1927, in Alma, Ark., the son of Doc and Edna Blaylock. He attended schools at Alma, Fort Smith, Arkansas Junior College and University of Arkansas at Fayetteville, Ark. He also took correspondent courses from DeVry Technology Institute. He married Billie Ruth Parks Dec. 31, 1952. He served in the U.S. Navy in the mid forties and he was of the Baptist faith. Ronald retired from Texas Instruments after 32 years of service. He was a long time member of Alma, Ark., Masonic Lodge and he took his 32nd degree in Dallas.

He was preceded in death by his son, Ronald Steven Blaylock in 1991; and by his parents.

Survivors include his wife, Billie; two brothers, Warren Blaylock and wife, Donna, of Alma, Ark., and Russell Blaylock and wife, Yvonne, of Mountainburg, Ark.; nieces and nephews, Dianna Lynn Blaylock of Fayetteville, Ark., Sherrie Blaylock Kurkendall and husband, Robin, of Alma, Ark., Lucinda Blaylock DeBruce and husband, Lane, of Rogers, Ark., Darrell Blaylock of Siloam Springs, Ark., Regenia Parks Geyer and husband, Michael, of Irving, Larry Parks and wife, Linda Parks, of Irving, Kim Ramsey McClusky and husband, Mike, of Houston. He is also survived by several great-grandnieces and nephews.

A special thanks to Dr. William Surber who made all of the decisions we needed to make during Ronald’s 2 ½ months of hospitalization. We just had to follow his suggestions. Dr. Strom was also helpful in providing prescriptions we needed when he was on call for Dr. Surber. We also appreciated his visits and encouragement when we visited with him at the hospital. Dr. Thurmond was very helpful when Ronald was in Rehab at Paris Regional Medical Center North and Chris Johnson and his staff were also helpful in Skilled Nursing at Paris Regional Medical Center South. Our friend, Jason Proctor, visited us often and he and his people were helpful with their suggestions. Thanks to both of our ministers Ken Cannon and Mike Atkins for their visits and their services, and to Katy Cannon, one of our nurses and a good listener. Also we want to thank Judy Parks and her husband, Ron. Judy was Ronald’s nurse and neighbor. A special thanks to all of our friends who dropped by. We couldn’t have made it through this sad time without Ann and Bobby McMonigle and Mike and Debbie Boswell. This is a long list of thanks, but when you are in the hospital a long time, there are a lot of people to thank, and we sincerely thank each one of you.

Pallbearers will be Bobby McMonigle, Mike Boswell, Chief Addy, Jason Bounds, Leslie Howie and Willis Monroe.

Honorary pallbearers will be the men in Verlon Vaughn’s Sunday School Class.
