OBITUARY   Tommy Lee Boerner of Midland, Texas, passed away August 2, 2013. Tommy was born February 2, 1980 in Denton County to Gerald Boerner and Barbara McFarlane. Tommy married Vanessa Cody on October 6, 2007. Tommy attended Slidell High School where he graduated as Salutatorian and received his Associates Degree from Midland College. He was active in co-ed softball, hunting, outfitting, and charity hunts for children. In High School he was involved in track, basketball, and FFA, where he won several 1st place ribbons and showmanship of livestock. Tommy is survived by his wife, Vanessa Boerner of Midland; Parents, Gerald and Debbie Boerner of Pilot Point, and Tom and Barbara McFarlane of Decatur; Sisters, Christy Boerner and Halee Boerner of Pilot Point, Ashley Norton of Dallas, Amber Samples of Coppell, and April Norton of Pilot Point; Brothers, Joey Boerner and wife Jessica of Krugerville, Thor McFarlane and wife Ashley of Hurst; Shawn McFarlane of Decatur, and Douglas Gammill of Denton; Grandparents, Polly Boerner, Jerry and MaryAnn Pels, Sharon and Gary McFarlane, and Helen Taylor; Great Grandparent, Pearl Cox; In-laws Tony and Gloria Cody; Brother-in-law, Nathan Cody and wife Lety; three nephews, six nieces, and other extended family members. On Monday August 5, 2013 from 6-8pm family and friends are invited for visitation at DeBerry Funeral Directors in Denton. Funeral service will be held Tuesday August 6, 2013 in the chapel of DeBerry Funeral Directors at 2pm. In leiu of flowers memorials can be made to the Wounded Warriors.
