OBITUARY

BRACKEEN, EL JAY
El Jay Brackeen of 3054 Amber Lane , Farmers Branch , died Sunday, 30 Aug 1981. Graveside services were held Tuesday, 1 Sep in the Red Hill Cemetery under the direction of Fry and Gibbs Funeral Home.
He was born 23 Dec 1921 in Powderly, a son of Noah T. Brackeen and Nora Frederick Brackeen. He attended schools in Powderly and was a veteran of World War II serving in the US Air Force. On 9 Mar 1948 he married Miss Norma L. Franklin. They lived in Paris until 1955 when they moved to Farmers Branch . He was a plumber and steam fitter.
   Surviving are his wife; three daughters, Mrs. Paula Warren of Dallas, Mrs. Mona Belcher of Dallas and Miss Shann Brackeen of Farmers Branch; three sons, Jay Brackeen of Fort Hood and Don Brackeen and Bart Brackeen, both of Dallas; seven grandchildren; four brothers, Ward Brackeen, Mack Brackeen and Bob Brackeen, all of Texarkana.
