Brinson, Carroll Eugene "Gene" Carroll Eugene "Gene" Brinson, 80 a long-time resident of Carrollton died Saturday following a short illness. He was born in Dallas, TX. the son of Karlton and Helen Pauline Robinson Brinson August 27, 1928. Preceded in death by his parents and by his wife Joanne, he is survived by his children, Carol Jolene Kurtz and her husband Joel of Monroe, N.C., Kevin Ross Brinson of Frost, Tx, Kyle Dean Brinson and his wife Julie of Carrollton; Janna Lyn Carley and her husband Mark of Plano; six grandchildren Jason Thomas, Max Kurtz, Christopher Brinson, Joe Thomas, Sarah Brinson and Alexander Brinson and three great grandchildren, Zane Kurtz, Paris Brinson and Olivia Kurtz. Visitation will be at the Rhoton Funeral Home Chapel, Carrollton, Tx on Thursday from 8 a.m. to 9 p.m. with the family receiving friends from 5-9 p.m. Funeral Services will be at 10 a.m. Friday at the First Baptist Church in Carrollton with interment at 1 p.m. in the Dallas-Fort Worth National Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be sent to the "Challenge Air for Kids" program which provides airline flights for disabled children.
