OBITUARY
 
TONY LAYNE COKER

Born September 20, 1977 in Dallas, TX and passed away on December 16, 2009 in Farmers Branch, TX.

Tony graduated from R L Turner High School in 1995 with honors. He was a boy scout and member of the academic and debate teams while he attended school. He was very devoted to serving his community. He served by mentoring children in his community as well as helping keep local parks clean. Tony loved collecting Transformers and Simpsons items. He enjoyed playing video games. Tony had a love for music. He played the bass guitar in several jazz bands during high school and after.

He is preceded in death by his great grandmother; Ruth Harkins Brodie, grandmother; Ruth Davis Rodie Layne, and his grandfather, Anthony John "Tony" Layne. He is survived by his wife, Amy; son, Tyler; parents, Jill Layne Coker and George Edward Coker. 3 brothers, George M Robinson, Derek L Robbins, and James E Robbins.

Memorial service will be held at 12:00PM on Tuesday, December 22, 2009 at Metrocrest Funeral Home.

In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Saint Judes Children's Hospital or The Special Olympics.
