OBITUARY

Deborah Thompson "Deb" Maddox Cole
Saturday, March 6th, 1954 - Friday, May 24th, 2019

Deborah (Deb) Thompson Maddox Cole, age 65, lost her battle with cancer on May 29, 2019 with her family by her side. Born on March 6, 1954 in Dallas, Texas to James Robert and Martha Sherry (Milholland) Thompson, she attended R.L. Turner High School in which she graduated in 1972. She continued her education and made many lifelong friends at Southwest Texas State University in San Marcos, Texas and North Texas State University in Denton, Texas but was a proud graduate of Texas A&M University in 1980. Deb resided in Dallas, Texas for most of her life, meeting the love of her life, Charlie, whom she finally married after many years together in March 2017, in Tucson, Arizona after moving there one year prior. Deb worked at NEC for over 10 years before retiring in 2016. Affectionately known as “Mimi” by her treasured grandchildren, she enjoyed cards, gardening, cooking, jigsaw puzzles, reading but mostly enjoyed cheering on her beloved A&M Aggies in football. Before his death, she also enjoyed traveling with her husband to fun and interesting places. Deb is preceded in death by her husband Charles Allen Cole, her parents, and grandson Donald James (D.J.) Maddox.She is survived by her son Brandon and his wife Donell, her two grandchildren, Norah and Charlie, her siblings, Rob, Brandy, and Larry Thompson, as well as a large circle of dear family friends.A memorial will be held on June 22, 2019 from 2:30 to 4:30 p.m. at the Dotson House located at the Farmers Branch Historical Park in Farmers Branch, Texas. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made in her name to the Cancer Research Foundation. Arrangements by Adair Funeral Home, Dodge Chapel.
