OBITUARY

Dorothy Elizabeth Currin
Funeral services for Dorothy Elizabeth Currin, 76 of Athens are scheduled for 10 a.m. Tuesday in the chapel of the Cooper Funeral Home with Perry Smith officiating. Mrs. Currin passed away Saturday evening, Dec. 25, 2004, at her residence.
Mrs. Currin was born in Henderson County near Brownsboro on April 27, 1928, to Grady and Delia Tompkins.
She was reared in Henderson County and attended schools in Brownsboro. Upon completion of high school, she attended East Texas State University in Commerce, where she graduated with a bachelor of science degree in 1955. She was united in marriage to Harold Currin on August 5, 1950. She was a schoolteacher and had taught school in Edom, Crystal City, Carrolton and Farmers Branch. In 1976, the Currin family moved back to Henderson County and became owners and operators of National Supply in Athens.
Mrs. Currin is survived by her husband, Harold Currin of Athens; sons and daughters-in-law, Steve and Peggy Currin of Athens, Brett and Karen Currin of Athens; brother and sister-in-law, Billy Ben and Emma Jean Tompkins of Brownsboro; sister, Nell Dodd of Branson, Missouri; grandchildren, Brett Currin, Kelly Bennett and great-grandchildren, Cole Bennett and Allysa Bennett.
The Cooper Funeral Home visitation hours are from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. The family will receive condolences from 6-8 p.m. Monday.
