OBITUARY
 
Henry Robert “Bob” Curry, 75, died Thursday, June 20, 2013 at Plano Presbyterian Hospital following a brief illness. Born March 10, 1938 in Memphis, Texas, the son of Louis and Nora Curry. He moved with his family to Plainview where he graduated from Plainview High School in 1956. It is also where he met and married the love of his life, Delores Ann Hanna on August 17, 1957. Active in the community, Bob served as President of Plainview Jaycee in 1964. He was also very active in the Masonic Lodge, being raised to the sublime degree of Master Mason on October 13, 1966. He served as Master of James A. Smith Masonic Lodge in 1987, received the Golden Trowel Award in 1995 and was named Mason of the Year in 2005. He also served as Worthy Patron of Farmers Branch Chapter, Order of the Eastern Star in 1985, 1989 and again in 2001. He served on the Rainbow Board for Farmers Branch Rainbow Assembly and was on the Grand Committee on Work for the Grand Assembly of Texas, IORG. Bob never met a stranger; He greeted everyone with a warm smile, a helping hand and a witty comment. He was a loyal father, grandfather, and friend. He will be missed by all. He is survived by his wife of 56 years, Delores Curry; his son Richard Curry of Grapevine; his daughter Kelly Romans and her husband Joey Romans of Coppell; his grandson Tanner Romans of Coppell; his sister in law Sharon Spinks and her husband Jack Spinks of Golden, Colorado; his nieces Shawna, Jackie and Laura Jean, all of Colorado; his cousins Sandra Lynn Simpson and her husband Paul Simpson of Amarillo, Markey Hartman Robertson, Billie Hartman Dixon and Linda Hartman Fisher; his lifelong friends Reatha Pyatte and Winston Sullivan; and many close friends.

Memorial Service to be held Monday June 24th in The Brooks Mwmorial Chapel at 3:pm. Memorials may be made to: Texas Brigades 3660 Thousand Oaks Dr., Ste. 126 San Antonio, TX 78247 The Texas Brigades’ mission is to educate and empower youths with leadership skills and knowledge in wildlife, fisheries, and land stewardship to become conservation ambassadors for a sustained natural resource legacy.
