Mrs. June Lavanna Deckard was born on March 3, 1932 in Dallas, Texas to
William Fred Houston and Hazel Eldridge (Milstead) Houston. She passed
away on March 1, 2010 just two days before her 78th birthday in Dallas
at Kindred Hospital White Rock. She was preceded in death by her husband
Jimmie Chandler Deckard in 1996. She is survived by her son, Jim
“Buster/Snake” Deckard and his wife Paula and daughter Sandra Deckard;
grandchildren, Joshua Deckard and his wife Stephanie, Chris Michael
Byrne and his wife Amanda, Eric Deckard and his wife Nicole, Casey
Deckard, Jason Deckard, and Jimi Deckard and his wife Jeanie and Christi
Deckard; great- grandchildren, Jonathan, Jacie, Alexa, Chloe, Lincoln,
Alyssa and Addison; brother, James “Butch” Fred Houston; sisters, Joyce
Robertson, Janice Sutter and her husband Bobby, Jeannette Cullum and
husband Marvin, JoLene Tuttel and Judith Coplen. Viewing will be from
6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at Laurel Oaks Funeral Home on Wednesday March
3, 2010. Funeral services will be held on Thursday March 4, 2010
beginning at 2:00 p.m. at Laurel Oaks Funeral Home with Pastor Johnny
Johnson officiating. Burial will follow in the Laurel Oaks Memorial
Park. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the
American Lung Association or flowers will be accepted by the family.
