JIM ELLIOTT SCHOLARSHIP

The Jim Elliott Scholarship was established in 2009 to provide scholarships for graduating seniors from Newman Smith High School in memory of Mr. Jim Elliott. Jim Elliott taught in the C-FB ISD for about 35 years. He taught at Dewitt Perry for 2 years, R.L. Turner for 3 years and Newman Smith for 29 years! Jim taught primarily chemistry and physical science or IPC. He was a tireless champion of the student who was consistently working hard even if they were not as academically gifted. He had a large sense of humor and a billion stories to share. He had more knowledge of science than ANYONE in the school district. Jim was the guy you could depend on and the one who never shied away from the values of what is right and logical. He loved kids, science, his family and his friends!
Available to students graduating from: Newman Smith High School
