Carrollton High Principal Named

Principal H. W. Embry of the high school at Leonard, Fannin County, last year, will be principal of Carrollton High the next school year, beginning Monday, Sept 17. Supt. John W. Gunstream said Friday. Mr. Embry will also coach high school athletics at Carrollton.
"It is not certain yet whether Carrollton will have a football team this fall on account of scarcity of material," Gunstream said. "A team will be organized and practice will be organized and practice started if a sufficient number of boys show an interest. We expect, however to have good girls and and boys' basket ball teams next winter and a baseball team next spring.
"Our scholastic requirement for members of athletic teams will be strictly enforced this year, as it has in the past. No boy or girl may play on a school team without making a grade of A in deportment and passing grades in at least three subjects.
