NOTES

Tonya Etheridge, was killed in a car accident, but not by a drunk driver (that I know of).  She was a passenger in a car driven by a friend of hers.  I don't remember his name or the names of the other passengers, Madeleine (whose last name I do not remember) was one.  I remember they were in a Lincoln Continental and they were coming back from the car races in Lewisville.  There used to be a race track on I-35.  They were headed south on Old Denton in the dark as it was late, and struck a car parked on the shoulder and slightly in the roadway.  Their car rolled several times, I seem to recall that speed was a factor.  I saw pictures of that car after the accident, it was reduced to the size of a VW Bug.  Elaine Glidewell and I were her best friends.  Elaine came and got me the next morning so we could go to the hospital to donate blood, but we could not (not old enough and did not meet the minimum weight requirement).  She was in such bad shape that we were not allowed to see her.  All we could do was sit with the family.  They held a memorial service for her in Carrollton.  Her brothers name was Roger, I did not know much about the rest of her family and that is the only year she attended RLT if I remember correctly.   ....
