OBITUARY Funeral Held
For J. L. Evans At Greenville
GREENVILLE, Texas, Sept. 16. - Funeral services were held here for J. L.
Evans, 88, a former grocer at Floyd, who died at his home here. He had lived in
Greenville eight years.
Evans, native of Verona, Miss, was born Oct. 5, 1860. He came to Texas in 1912
and lived in Dallas County before he moved to Floyd.
He is survived by his wife and six children, Clay Evans and Howard Evans of
Carrollton, Warren Evans of Dallas, Mrs. Royal Courtney of Dallas, Mrs. J. A.
Glenn of Salem, Ark.; Mrs. J. R. Windham of Mesquite; one stepson, F. L. Porter
of Dallas; sixteen grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
