CARROLLTON — Funeral services are scheduled for Louis (Bud) Alan Ferguson, of Dallas, 2 p.m. Saturday, March 14, 2020, at Holy Communion Episcopal Church, 17405 Muirfield Dr. , Dallas. Mr. Ferguson was born June 16, 1944, and died February 6, 2020

Louis A. "Bud" Ferguson
Bud was born June 16, 1944 in Dallas, TX to parents Louis Sherman and Florinda Fay Ferguson.

Bud is survived by his wife Gloria Eckies Ferguson; his sons Brett Ferguson and wife Melanie Ferguson; his daughter Laura West and husband Randy West; his grandchildren Brady Ferguson, Berklie Ferguson, Bailey West and Blake West; his brother Mike Ferguson and his family; sister Pam Graham and her family; and brother Keith Ferguson and his family. Bud grew up in Carrollton, TX. He attended R. L. Turner High School, Tyler Junior College and North Texas State University.

Bud was a general contractor for 50 plus years and continued to stay active by snow skiing, hunting, deep sea fishing, golfing, and laking.  He loved Bluebonnets in the spring, all things Texas, cold beer, spicy peanuts, baseball, chocolate chip cookies for breakfast, and ZZ Top. He was proud to be a Marine and proud to be an American. Bud never met a stranger and was the epitome of selflessness. When he came into your life, he changed it - maybe with just a handshake or maybe with a shot of WD40 on your squeaky hinges.

Bud's only been in heaven a short time, but rest assured all the cars are washed and the gates are polished. He's decided the entire Kingdom needs trim and he's teaching the angels to read a tape measure.

Although he fought cancer like a Marine, BUd passed away on February 6, 2020 in Tyler, TX.

From Bud's service
