Marine Ford Takes Part In Operation

Vietnam - Marine Lance Corporal Willie R. Ford, son of Mrs. Jasper Cacioppo of 1103 Jeanette Way, Carrollton, participated in operation "Swift" while serving with the First Battalion, Fifth marine Regiment, First Marine Division in the Republic of Vietnam.
During the 12-day search and destroy operation his unit made substantial contact with a large enemy force.
Operation "Swift" accounted for 600 enemy dead and tons of ammonization and weapons captured.
