Jeanette V. Fyke
April 24, 1917 - February 23, 2011
Jeanette Virginia Fyke, 93, passed away Wednesday, Feb. 23, 2011 in Clifton. A private graveside service for family will be held at the Perry Cemetery, Carrollton. Jeanette was born April 24, 1917 in Van Alstyne, to Robert and Rebecca Reasor Barron. She grew up on a farm there, one of the youngest of 11 siblings. She graduated valedictorian from Van Alstyne High School, then moved to Dallas where she worked in accounting for Nabisco while attending Dallas Bible Institute and Bible College. She married Frank Carden Fyke, of Carrollton, July 14, 1945. She took an active role in the Army Officers' Wives Club during much of her husband's military career. She and her family lived in Kansas, Germany, and California before settling in Fort Worth. She was a member of University Baptist Church. Survivors: daughter, Linda Fyke, of Clifton; son, Frank Fyke, Jr., of Waco; three granddaughters; and three great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, siblings and husband.
