OBITUARY
Alyce Simmons, 93, of Pilot Point, passed away Friday, February 14, 2014 in Denton, TX. She was born April 19, 1920 in Hebron, TX to Elbert and Ollie (Hurst) Grimes. She worked for 26 years at Texas Instruments. She married Harben Simmons, who preceded her in death. She later married, Hershel Gary, who also preceded her in death.

She worked at Texas Instruments for 26 years as a researcher. She was a member of Calvary Baptist Church, where she also participated with the Road Runners.

She is survived by her two sons, Jerry Simmons of Aubrey, Lonnie Simmons of Pilot Point; one daughter, Kathy Hill of Pilot Point; one nephew, Jackie Mayfield of Rock Creek; five grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; brother, George Grimes; two sisters, Leona Sonntag and Geneva Staton.

Visitation will be held 7:00PM-8:00PM, Monday, February 17, 2014 at Slay Memorial Chapel in Aubrey. A funeral service will be held at 10:30AM, Tuesday, February 18, 2014 at Calvary Baptist Church in Pilot Point. Burial will be at Furneaux Cemetery in Carrollton, TX, with the Rev. Luther Slay and Roger Greer officiating. Memorials may be made to The Fisher House.

Arrangements are under the direction of Terri Slay and Slay Memorial Funeral Center, Aubrey.
