OBITUARY

Marie (Katie) Gillis
July 31, 1985 - December 31, 2017
Funeral for Kathleen Marie (Katie) Gillis, age 32, will be at 1:30 p.m.,
Friday, January 5, 2018, in the Becker-Rabon Funeral Home Chapel, in
Lawton, Oklahoma, with Dr. William F. Watkins officiating.
Burial will follow in Sunset Memorial Gardens.
Katie was born July 31, 1985 in Lawton, Ok to John R. Gillis, II and
Robbie Meadors, and passed away on December 31, 2017 in Denton, Texas.
She attended elementary and middle school in Lawton, then moved to
Dallas and attended Newman Smith High School in Carrollton, TX., later
taking classes at Collin County Community College.
She was employed by Vitty’s Sports Bar in Lewisville, TX. Katie enjoyed
softball, animals, playing poker, and just being with her friends. She
loved giving advice to others, and making people laugh. She was a loyal
friend to many.
She is survived by her husband, Scott Collier, of Michigan, and her
children, Cadence Noel Burroughs, and Austin Andrew Law. She is also
survived by her mother, Robbie S. Meadors, father, John R. Gillis, II,
PsyD, brother John R. Gillis, III, and sister, Christan Noel Gillis, her
maternal grandmother, Joyce Meadors, her paternal grandmother, Sue
Worthen Powell, her uncles, Randy Meadors, Rick Meadors, and James
Gillis, her aunts, Vicki Meadors, Carol Ann Meadors, and Hope Gillis,
and several cousins.
Katie was preceded in death by her beloved Granddaddy, Robert L. Meadors,
and her Labrador Retriever, Blake.
