Services for Richard Glidewell, age 80 of Hideaway, are scheduled for 2:00 PM Saturday, September 23, 2017 at the Caudle-Rutledge-Daugherty Funeral Home in Lindale with Rev. Tom McMahan & Bro. Herschel Sanders officiating. Interment will follow in the Lindale City Cemetery.
Mr. Glidewell died Tuesday, September 19, 2017 at TMF Louis & Peaches Heart Hospital in Tyler. He was born in Richardson on April 23, 1937 to the late Willie George and Dorothy (French) Glidewell. Mr. Glidewell was formerly of Irving until moving to Hideaway in 2001. He was the owner and founder of Bestway Building Services until joining American Building Maintenance and serving as the East Texas branch manager from 2001-2007 when he retired. He served our country in the National Guard for eight years. Mr. Glidewell was also a member of the Hideaway Lake Community Church. His life was centered around his family, especially his Grandchildren and Great-Grandchildren. He was married to the love of his life for 59 years. He is remembered for his "love for everyone" by everyone he met.
He is preceded in death by brother, Johnny Glidewell. He is survived by his wife, Helen Glidewell of Hideaway; son, Terry Glidewell and wife, Denise of Flint; daughter, Denisa DeLorge and husband, Don of Irving; 3 brothers, Charles and Susie Glidewell of Pottsboro; Herbert and Georgie Glidewell of Mesquite; David Glidewell of Grand Saline; sisters, Sarah Cummings of Dallas; Linda Woodall of Dallas; 3 grandchildren, Jennifer and Jeremy Colleps of Forney; Brandon and Lyndsie DeLorge of Royce City; Jeremy and Chelsea DeLorge of Stephenville; 4 great grandchildren, Austin Colleps, Branson DeLorge, Nick Wilkerson, and Haley Colleps; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Serving as pallbearers will be Brandon DeLorge, Jeremy DeLorge, Jeremy Colleps, Jim Hipp, George Battinelli, David Simmons, and Raymond Pink.
The family will receive friends from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM Friday, September 22, 2017 at the Caudle-Rutledge-Daugherty Funeral Home in Lindale.
