OBITUARY
 
Edith Mae (Judy) Settle Godwin of Farmers Branch, Texas, passed away July 17, 2013. She was 86 years old. Born to John Henry Settle and Lessie Pearl Hanson in Dallas, Texas. Preceded in death by parents; brother, John Settle; daughter, Norma Jean Humphreys; grandson, Jeremy Don Wells; and granddaughter, Jenny Len Swafford.
She attended Adamson High School. Was baptized in the Methodist church. Married Henry Godwin on Jan 5, 1944. They celebrated their 69th wedding anniversary in January of this year. She loved being a homemaker, working in her yard, was a great cook, loved feeding the birds, and was an avid Texas Rangers Fan. Also loved playing 42 with family.
She is survived by her beloved husband, Henry Ford Godwin; four loving daughters, Ruthie Wells (Burton), Carolyn Swafford (Jim), Johnnie Ryan (Bob), and Paula Muth (Foster); her sister, Ruth Allison; grandchildren, John Wells, Kim McMellon, Jamie Swafford, Jeff Wells, Jennifer Faircloth, Janna Harris, Robbie Ryan, Chuck Muth, Lisa Dempsey, Tracy Teel and Elizabeth Muth; 18 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.
Visitation: 6 to 8 p.m. on Saturday, July 20, 2013, in the Brooks Family Chapel at North Dallas Funeral Home, 2710 Valley View Lane, Farmers Branch, TX 75234.
Funeral Service: 3 p.m. on Sunday, July 21, 2013, also at the funeral home, Bro. Jeffrey Roe officiating. Burial will follow in Hilltop Memorial Park, Carrollton, Texas.
Pallbearers will be John Wells, Jamie Swafford, Jeff Wells, Robbie Ryan, Chuck Muth and Jack Wells.
Honorary Pallbearers are Kim McMellon, Janna Harris, Jennifer Faircloth, Lisa Dempsey, Tracy Teel and Elizabeth Muth.
