OBITUARY

Performer Dies at 73

CARROLLTON - Funeral services for Herald R. Goodman, 73, of 1300 Maryland St., a radio performer for 27 years until his retirement in 1960, will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday in Rhoton-Weiland-Merritt Funeral Chapel. Burial will be in Furneaux Cemetery near Farmers Branch.
He died here Wednesday.
Goodman was a member of the Vagabonds on the Grand Ole Opry Show from 1931 to 1939. He retired in 1973 after six years as a public relations man for Holiday Inn Northwest.
He was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Carrollton and Hella temple Shrine in Dallas. He was a 32nd-degree Mason.
Survivors include his wife, Mary, two sons, two daughters, two sisters, one brother, and seven grandchildren.
