OBITUARY

David Michael Guynes
May 28, 1943 - November 10, 2020

After a long battle with Diabetes and then Cancer, David Michael Guynes passed way on November 10, 2020 in his home in Dallas, Texas at the age of 77.

He leaves behind his wife of almost 37 years, Lynne Guynes, his 2 sisters June Boyd of Heath Texas and Jane Henderson of Dallas, Texas. David is also survived by his nieces Nita Vogt and husband Michael of San Antonio, Texas & Jana and Thomas Manders of Fairview, Texas and the great nieces and nephews from both families.

David lived a remarkably interesting and diversified life after 1 year out of college by going into the Wholesale car business on Ross Avenue for 3-4 years. From there he moved on to be purchasing agent for Truett Laboratories in Farmers Branch, Texas, where “Mary Kay” cosmetics became one of his 1st customers. In the 70’s it was then onto the moving business where he worked for companies such as Bekins, Allied and Mayflower. At all 3 companies he did dispatching, sales and then he used his real talents by being an auditor and running auctions.

However, his true passion was getting into the air conditioning industry and doing Warehousing and Distribution. In 1980 he joined Texas Distributors (an employee owned company), out of Farmers Branch, Texas, as Warehouse Manager and a year later he met his future wife Lynne Kern, native of Royal Oak, Michigan. David stayed in this industry until he retired from Carrier Corporation in May 2008.

During his 12 years of retirement, David enjoyed giving his time and himself to help others by doing “Meals on Wheels” for those who needed, in the little Elm area in Denton County, Texas.

Well known for his keen wit, quick and smart thinking, seeing both sides of a controversy and giving of himself selflessly to those in need, he will be sorely missed, but never forgotten and always remembered with a smile on our face.

In Lieu of flowers or plants we ask that you may donate to the American Diabetes Association of Dallas or the Cancer Research Foundation.
