Sammy Ray Harper
May 31, 1959 - February 9, 2016

SAMMY RAY HARPER, 56, of Ingleside, Texas, formerly of Farmer’s Branch, died Tuesday, February 9, 2016 in an Aransas Pass hospital. Born May 31, 1959 in Dallas, he was the son of the late Nelson Ray Harper and Billie Maurine Emmons Harper. He lived in Farmers Branch and Denton and raised his children on a farm in Justin, Texas with Jody Harper. He lived in San Antonio and later moved to Ingleside where he worked at TD Industries, in sheet metal and HVAC and offshore oil drilling rig construction and he later opened a barbeque stand. He loved to fish and spent much time on the water at Ingleside. Survivors include his children, Justin Harper and wife Shanna of Oklahoma and Amy Harper of Denton; a sister Shirley Stinson of Oklahoma; a granddaughter Lilliana Harper; his companion Elva Schrimpsher, and her family Katherine Turner, Brad Crockett, Brian Turner and wife Vanessa, Sarah Carroll and husband Sam, and Jennifer Sanchez and her husband Mike. The family will receive friends 10:00 a.m. – noon Saturday, February 13, 2016 at Donnelly’s Colonial Funeral Home, 606 West Airport Freeway in Irving. Graveside services will be at 12:30 p.m. Saturday at Sowers Cemetery in Irving.
