Mike Hawkins was born on July 15, 1983 in Dallas, Texas. He played one year of college football at Oklahoma for five games before being excused from the team for disciplinary reasons. In the five games, Hawkins made five tackles and an interception. Hawkins spent time in the Arena Football League before being drafted by the Green Bay Packers in the fifth round of the 2005 NFL Draft.

NFL

2005: Mike Hawkins played in 11 games and made 14 tackles, 13 of them solo. He served mostly as Ahmad Carroll’s backup at cornerback. 2006: Played only seven games for the Cleveland Browns, making one tackle.

Personal

Mike Hawkins played high school football at R.L. Turner High School in Carrollton, Texas. He was considered one of the top prep cornerbacks in the nation after earning All-America honors as a senior. Hawkins compiled 51 tackles, 12 passes deflected, three interceptions, two forced fumbles and two kickoff returns for 104 yards. Besides football, Hawkins also competed in track.
