LEADING OUR YOUTH

Charles Hebert is the Vocational Counselor at R. L. Turner High School. His responsibility toward the youth of this community is to place and counsel all students enrolled in the vocational education programs. Much of his time is spent in interviewing, testing and assisting students in making career choices. Mr. Hebert also provides a placement program for students completing vocational programs and assists in college choices.
A native of Beaumont, Mr. Hebert taught Social Studies in Junior High there before coming to Carrollton - Farmers Branch. He has taught in this area in the elementary, junior high, and high school levels. For several years he was an active sponsor of the Teen Age Jury under the court of Judge Skibell in Farmers Branch. While teaching in junior high here, he was sponsor of the Student Council.
Mr. Hebert received his Bachelor's Degree from Lamar State College of Technology and his Master's Degree in guidance and counseling at North Texas State University of Houston and the University of Texas. Before going into teaching, Mr. Hebert worked with Dresser Equipment Co. He finds this experience helpful in his present position as Vocational Counselor.
Farmers Branch is the home of Mr. Hebert and his wife, Mary, and three children. He is an active member of the First United Methodist Church in Carrollton in which he now serves as Adult Coordinator on the Council of Ministries, president of the Fellowship Sunday School class, and is on the Administrative Board.
