OBITUARY
HOSEK, Shirley
July 29, 1931 - Oct. 2 2016
 Shirley
Hosek, 85, died peacefully at her home on Sunday, October 2, 2016.
A lifetime resident of Dallas, Shirley graduated from Carrollton High
School in 1949. Afterwards she worked in the family business and later
became the state's first female Fire and Casualty Insurance agent.
Shirley loved fishing, bird-watching and travel. Music was a lifelong
love. She enjoyed playing the harmonica and entertaining friends.
She also loved her visits to Lake Bidgeport with many friends and
family.
Preceded in death by her husband of 56 years,
Jerry Hosek DVM, Shirley is survived by brother Don and Maggie
Francis of Chico, TX; daughter Shan and Jett Richards and their children
Andrew, Jon and Lisa; son Jerry Hosek of Dallas; grandchildren Lauren
Pond and Meredith Hosek.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Prestoncrest Church of
Christ in her memory at 12700 Preston Road, Suite 210, Dallas, 75230.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held at Prestoncrest on Thursday,
October 13 at 1 p.m.
The family would like to extend a heartfelt thanks to VNA and those who
