Shirley Lavonne Kirkham, 76, of Dallas, Texas, a retired school teacher, died Saturday, January 7, 2012, at a residence in DeLeon, Texas.

Services will be 10:00 a.m., Monday, January 9, 2012, at the Lacy Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Werth Mayes officiating. Burial will be at 3:00 p.m., Monday, January 9, 2012, at Frankford Cemetery, Dallas, Texas. Visitation will be 6:00-8:00 p.m., Sunday, January 8, 2012, at Lacy Funeral Home.

Shirley was born on January 13, 1935, to the late Hershel and Lota (Havenhill) Fidler in Cresson, Texas. She married Richard Kirkham on August 29, 1960, in Fort Worth, Texas. He preceded her in death on July 14, 1997.

She was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Richardson, Texas, a member of the Eastern Star, and an accomplished musician.

Survivors include her sons, Scott Kirkham and wife, Stephanie, of Flower Mound, Texas, and Stuart Kirkham and wife, Laufau, of Concord, California; a sister, Sandra Carter of Stephenville, Texas; and four grandchildren, Slade Kirkham, Sophie Rose Kirkham, Amye Kirkham, and Nahida Kirkham.
