OBITUARY

Bobby Lewellen

Bobby Dean Lewellen, 58, a longtime resident of Carrollton, died Feb. 5.

Mr. Lewellen was born Nov. 11, 1942, in Athens, Texas. He graduated from Carrollton High School in 1961.

He was sports editor of the school newspaper, was National Honor Society president and was a class officer. He also was an athlete. He attended Dallas Baptist University.

He was active in the church-sponsored Saturday Nights in Dallas and was a Sunday school director. In 1973, he was selected as an Outstanding Young Man of America. He was regional vice president for MetLife and president of Walnut Street Securities at the time of his death.

Survivors include his wife, Jan Lewellen of Carrollton; two children, Becky Lewellen and Bobby Lewellen, of Carrollton, his mother, Dean Rozelle Lewellen of Carrollton, and a brother, Jerry Lewellen of Florida.

Services were at the Prestonwood Baptist Church. Restland Funeral Home was in charge of local arrangements. Memorial gifts may be made to the Prestonwood Baptist Church Youth Scholarship Fund.
