Carrollton Man Killed By Robber

A Carrollton man, Jeffrey R. Lindsay, of 1919 Walnut Plaza, was shot and killed Sunday night as he and his new wife, Meredith, honeymooned in Houston.
The former Baylor University students were married Saturday in Waco and were to live in Carrollton where Lindsay had just opened a car dealership.
Houston police that Lindsey, 23, went to a convenience store for soft drinks about 11:30 p.m. and apparently was followed back to his room by a robber.
Hearing a noise outside the room, Meredith Lindsay, 21, opened the door to find a man holding a gun on her husband.
Lindsay reportedly turned quickly toward the gunman who shot once, fatally wounding him in the chest, and fled.
Lindsay was carrying about $200 in cash and may have attracted the assailant while in the grocery store, police said.
The manager of the Ramada Inn where the Lindsays were staying said another newlywed couple had been robbed recently in the same vicinity of Main.
