Patricia "Patty" Jaremko Lindsey
February 20, 1947 — March 22, 2023
Opelousas
Opelousas- A Mass of Christian Burial for Mrs. Patricia Jaremko Lindsey will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, March 28, 2023, at Our Lady of Mercy Catholic Church in Opelousas. Msgr. Jeff DeBlanc and Rev. Fr. Gregory Simien will concelebrate the Mass. Rite of Committal will follow in Bellevue Memorial Park in Opelousas, LA.

The family requests visiting hours be from 2:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. on Monday, March 27, 2023, in the Skip Montet Memorial Chapel at Lafond Ardoin Funeral Home in Opelousas. Catholic Daughters will have a ceremony at 5:30 p.m. in the funeral home. A Rosary will be prayed by Deacon Jerome Collins and Deacon Ulysse Joubert at 6:00 p.m. on Monday evening. On Tuesday, visitation will continue in the funeral home from 8:00 a.m. until 10:30 a.m.

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Patricia Jaremko Lindsey, known to many as “Patty” on Wednesday, March 22, 2023, at her residence in Opelousas, LA, at the age of 76.

Patty was a loving wife and a caring mother, grandmother, aunt, and sister. She was a devout Catholic and served her church as the Office Manager and Secretary of Our Lady of Mercy Catholic Church for 12 years; as well as, assisting her husband, Deacon Tom Lindsey with caring for parishioners.

Patty had a love for traveling and going camping. She enjoyed dining in restaurants, her favorite was the Steamboat Warehouse. She also enjoyed spending time with friends and family, especially her grandchildren. She will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.

Survivors include her husband of 56 years, Deacon Tom E. Lindsey of Opelousas; son, Daniel W. Lindsey; daughters, Mary Elaine Lindsey Arledge; and Margaret “Molly” Lindsey Thibodeaux and her husband, Kevin; four brothers: Matt E. Jaremko and his wife, Rebecca; Michael W. Jaremko and his wife, Cyndy; Mitch F. Jaremko and his wife, Ann; and Terry T. Jaremko; two sisters: Judy E. Reed and her husband, Marvin; and Mary J. Godley; and her four lovely grandchildren: Juliet Arledge, Lindsey Thibodeaux, Tyler Thibodeaux, and Wesley Thibodeaux; two godchildren: Scott Farris and Emma Jaremko; father-in-law, Malcolm Barrington; brother-in-law, Clifford Barrington; and sister-in-law, Delaris "Larcee" Noble; and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, William “Bill” Jaremko and Betty May Doran Jaremko; and her mother-in-law, Frankie Elaine Barrington.

Pallbearers will be Matt Jaremko, Michael Jaremko, Mitch Jaremko, Terry Jaremko, Tyler Thibodeaux, and Wesley Thibodeaux.
