OBITUARY
 
Billie Joe was born in Collin County, Texas on August 12, 1928, the son of Johnie and Lena Mae Bowling May. He passed from this life on Saturday, September 4, at his home in Farmers Branch following an extended illness. He was 82 years of age.

He was raised on a farm in Collin County and on August 12, 1950 he married Charlsie Stone in Celina, Texas.. Billie served our country as a United States Marine from 1952 - 1954. A resident of Farmers Branch since 1955 Billie worked as a printer while maintaining an active interest in the family farm. His primary interests were Family, Farming and Friends. He was a long-time member of the Farmers Branch Church of Christ.

Preceded in death by his parents, a sister Delores, a brother-in-law, Bob Asher and a beloved daughter, Annette Kern, who died April 18, 2004, Billie is survived by his wife Charlsie of the home and by three grandsons, David, Daniel and Michael all of Allen, Tx.; by three brothers, Bobby May and his wife Mary of Texarkana, Jack (John) May and his wife Norma and Otis and his wife Jessie, all of Bakersfield, California; and by two sisters, Helen Asher of Bixby, Oklahoma and Eloise Talley and her husband Tom of Bridgeport, Texas.

Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m. Monday, September 6th at Rhoton Funeral Home with Funeral Services at 1 p.m. Tuesday, September 7th at the Farmers Branch Church of Christ, 3035 Valley View Lane. Officiants will be Brother Eddy Ketchersid, Dr. Jack (John) May and Pastor Otis May. Interment will follow in the Old Celina Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Sonny Boatman, Dana Asher, Larry May, Randy May, Neil Self and John Watkins.
