Carl Benjamin Mazzola, Jr. was born on April 19, 1944, in New Haven, Connecticut. Carl graduated from R.L. Turner High School in Carrollton, Texas, with the class of 1962. He entered into the U.S. Army in 1962, where he served his country in France, Germany, and Vietnam, where he was awarded the Bronze Star. He was honorably discharged in 1973. Carl worked in law enforcement for over 30 years. In 1980 he moved from Ft. Worth to Carthage to work for the Carthage Police Department where he served as the K-9 officer for the last 14 years of his career, retiring in 2005

Carl was born on April 19, 1944 and passed away on Wednesday, June 9, 2010.

Carl was last known to be living in Carthage, Texas.

Carl graduated from R.L. Turner High School in Carrollton, TX with the class of 1962.

He entered into the U.S. Army in 1962, where he served his country in France, Germany, and Vietnam, where he was awarded the bronze star. He was honorably discharged in 1973.

He is survived by his wife Corliss.

A rosary service will be held at 6 p.m. on Monday, June 14, 2010 at St. William of Vercelli Catholic Church. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Tuesday, June 15, 2010, at St. William of Vercelli Catholic Church with Father Michael Adams officiating. A graveside service with military honors will follow at 3:00 p.m. on Tuesday at Sunset Memorial Park in Gilmer.

CARTHAGE - A Mass of Christian Burial for Carl Benjamin Mazzola Jr., 66, of Carthage, will be 10:30 a.m., Tuesday, June 15, 2010, at Saint William of Vercelli Catholic Church with Father Michael Adams officiating. A graveside service with military honors will follow at 3 p.m., Tuesday, June 15, 2010, in Sunset Memorial Park in Gilmer. Arrangements are by Jimerson-Lipsey Funeral Home. Mr. Mazzola died June 9, 2010, in Carthage.
Mr. Mazzola was born on April 19, 1944, in New Haven, Connecticut. He served his country in the U.S. Army, where he was awarded the bronze star. Survivors include his wife, Corliss Mazzola; brothers, Robert Mazzola and Norman Mazzola; sister, Cynthia Petty; and stepmother, Hetty Martha Mazzola. A rosary service will be 6 p.m. Monday, June 14, 2010, at Saint William of Vercelli Catholic Church.
