OBITUARY
Officer Terry Mitchell McCurry
May 2, 1979 - December 12, 2008 Dallas, Texas
Officer Terry Mitchell McCurry, 29, of Dallas,
passed away Friday, Dec. 12, 2008.
Funeral services are scheduled for 11 a.m. Wednesday, Dec. 17, at Mount
Olive Baptist Church, with pastor Tim Reger officiating.
Family members receive friends from 5 to 7 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 14, at
Restland Funeral Home in Dallas, and from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 16,
at Bright-Holland Funeral Home in Paris.
He was born May 2, 1979, in Dallas. He was a devoted father, son,
brother, grandson, nephew, and friend. He was a humanitarian who cared
for his fellow officers and citizens. He was a police officer, most
recently with the Sachse Police Department, and formerly with the
University of Texas Southwestern and the University of Texas at Dallas.
He was a SWAT team member with the University of Texas Southwestern, and
was decorated as Police Officer of the Year and as Supervisor of the
Year while at UTD.
He is survived by his daughter, Baylie of Garland; his mother, Tammie of
Carrollton; father, Mitchell; brother, Jamey; sister, Samantha;
grandmother, Nancy; nieces, Alyssa, Maryssa and Hannah; and other
relatives.
Officers of Sachse Police Department will serve as pallbearers.
His mom requests contributions to be made to the Fallen Officer Funds,
his career-long passion.
