Claud William McDonald, Jr., 89, of Ferris, Texas, passed away on Sunday, April 9, 2017 in Dallas, Texas.

Claud was born in Coppell, Texas on July 9, 1927, the son of the late Vera (Dickerson) McDonald and Claud William McDonald, Sr.

Claud served his country in the United States Navy in WWII. Claud married Billie Sliger on July 10, 1947 in Texas. He was a self employed dairy farmer for many years. He loved farming, gardening, working in the yard and reading. Claud loved his family and enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren. He will be missed by all that knew and loved him.

Claud is survived by his wife of 69 years; Billie McDonald of Ferris, Texas; three sons: Billy J. and daughter-in-law, Janice McDonald of Keller, Texas; Claud Edward and daughter-in-law, Shelley McDonald of Grapevine, Texas; Tommy Ray McDonald, of Ferris, Texas.

He is also survived by 11 grandchildren, 6 great-grandchildren, several nieces, nephews, cousins and a host of friends.

He is preceded in death by one daughter Kathy Elaine Parott, and one brother, Charles Edward McDonald.

Visitation will be held 6~8 PM, Wednesday, April 12, 2017 at Green Funeral Home, 207 S. Wood St. in Ferris, Texas. Funeral service will be held 2:00 PM, Thursday, April 13, 2017 at Green Funeral Home, with Pastor Steve Hamm officiating. Interment to follow at Ferris Memorial Park North.
