OBITUARY
 

In Memory of Lucia McLain September 1, 1918 - November 14, 2014 Lucia Kuri McLain was born on September 1, 1918 to George & Lucia Kuri in Douglas, Arizona. She passed away on November 14, 2014 in Allen, Texas. She was raised in Douglas and graduated from Loretta High School. Her family that has gone before her include her husband of 45 years, "Mac" McLain; parents George Kuri and Lucia Simon Kuri; brother Sam Kuri; sisters Susan Warren, Sarah Moreno, Nazara Salgado and Mary Donovan. Lucia is survived by her brother George Kuri Hatcher and brother/sister-in-law Jimmy & Phyllis Jean McLain; children Lewis & Linda McLain of McKinney, Carol & Al Odum of Allen and Bob & Jane McLain of Flower Mound; grandchildren Jarrad & Stacy Chapman, Kenneth & DeAnne McLain, Heather Chapman, Tara & Matt Kristof, Kathryn & Jason Ford, Jason McLain and Ryan McLain. Lucia leaves many great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews. Lucia & Mac moved with all three children from Mississippi to Dallas in the early 1950s. They then moved into a new, small house on Greenhurst in Farmers Branch in 1956 where Lucia lived for some time after Mac's death in 1991. Always a maker of friends, and active Avon Lady for years, she blossomed where she lived afterward in Lewisville and then finally at Victoria Gardens of Allen for 12 years. It was at VGA where her gregarious nature earned her an Ambassador badge for years of mail delivery and visitation when she was able to get around. She was a faithful Baptist her adult life attending Trinity Baptist Church and Valley View Baptist Church in Farmers Branch as well as Lakeland Baptist Church in Lewisville and First Baptist Church in Allen. She was an active witness for the Lord every single day of her life. Family request that in lieu of flowers that donations be made to First Baptist Church, Lake Dallas.
