MEMORIAM

Michael Stephen McLeod
1964 - 2017

Naples, FL

Michael Stephen McLeod, 52, passed away on Friday, November 17, 2017.

He leaves a tremendous void in the lives of so many people especially his best friend and devoted wife of 30 years, Michelle. His gentle, caring, intelligent, patient, and fun-loving spirit will be missed by the many lives he touched throughout his life. For those who knew him, life will never be the same.

Michael was born on December 21, 1964 in Evanston, Illinois. Throughout his life, Michael had many notable accomplishments.

Through hard work, he put himself through college and graduated with an accounting degree from the University of Central Florida. He began his career with Centex Homes in Orlando, FL and shortly thereafter was transferred to Naples, FL. At Centex, he blossomed into a successful business professional and rose to the rank of Chief Financial Officer of Centex Homes' regional operations. In recent years, he and his close friend and business partner, Tom Wegwert, owned and managed their own successful home building company.

During his life in Naples, Michael was very active in the church, serving in various capacities such as a youth and marriage mentor, treasurer, and elder.

In his 40s, Michael began to run marathons and became a competitive triathlete. In his 50s, he completed a half ironman.

In addition to running, cycling and swimming, Michael loved boating and being out on the water. That is where he felt most free and alive.

He is survived by his wife, Michelle, his brothers Don (Patti) and Paul (Grace), his niece and nephews and his mother, Erika.

A memorial service will be held at 5:00 pm on Michael's birthday, December 21, 2017 at The Naples Beach Hotel and Golf Club.

Michael had a tremendous love for animals. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Humane Society in Michael's honor. For online condolences, please visit www.fullernaples.com.
