Ryan William Mehnert

Ryan William Mehnert, 28, of Carrollton, passed away on June 12, 2016 in Carrollton, TX. A Celebration of Ryan’s Life will be held at Mulkey-Mason Funeral Home, 740 S. Edmonds, Lewisville, TX on Thursday, June 16 at 7 PM. Ryan was born in Dallas to Robert and Lori Mehnert on January 15, 1988. He attended and graduated from Carrollton Creekview High School in 2010. He was currently attending the Aspire Dayhab Program in Lewisville. Ryan was an active participant with Special Olympics Texas for 18 years. He was a local and state champion in bowling and track and field events. Ryan enjoyed spending time with his friends, music, good food, his puppy dogs and answering the phone. Ryan is preceded in death by his grandparents Larry and Joyce Newton and Jerry and Maureen Mehnert. Ryan is survived by his parents, Robert and Lori Mehnert of Carrollton, his brother and sister-in-law, Kyle and Aimee of Denton County and a host of loving aunts, uncles and cousins located throughout the country. Ryan is also survived by a very caring house mother, Suzy Cortes, his “adopted” brother Sean and his housemates Lee and Randy. The family strongly requests that, in lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Carrollton Farmers Branch Cyclones Special Olympics Team, c/o Julia Scott, 2017 Grenoble Drive, Carrollton, TX 75007 or to the CFBISD All Stars Special Olympics Program, c/o Marie Huie Special Education Center, 2115 E. Frankford Road, Carrollton, TX. Though faced with many challenges, Ryan accomplished much in his life and brought joy and laughter to everyone he met. The family wishes to thank all of the many individuals and professionals who cared for and loved Ryan – there are too many of you to name here but we hope you understand how deeply appreciative and blessed we are to have had you in Ryan’s life.
