Gladys "Louise" (Smith) Nigo
APRIL 23, 1947 - JANUARY 17, 2019 (AGE 71)


Gladys "Louise" Smith Nigo was born on April 23, 1947, in Paris, Texas. She transitioned to eternity on January 17, 2019, in Dallas, Texas, at age 71.

Louise, as she was affectionately regarded, attended R.L. Turner High School. She enjoyed a career as a server at Denny's for almost 50 years.

On June 14, 1964, she married Arvis Russ. To their union, three sons were born. The two remained united until 1984. In 1985, she married Leon Nigo, Jr. To their union, a son and daughter were born. She remained married to Leon until his transition in May of 2011.

Louise delighted in serving and connecting with people. She was a happy, outgoing, loving, caring, hard-working, and nurturing person who will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved her.

She was predeceased by her husbands, Arvis Russ and Leon Nigo, Jr. Those left to cherish precious memories include her children: Ricky Russ, Michael Russ and his wife, Heather, Jimmy Russ and his wife, Lora, Kenneth Nigo and his wife, Rebecca, and Kristina Nigo and her husband, Stephen; 11 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; siblings: Juanita Summers, Joe Smith, and Henry Lee Smith; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
