OBITUARY
 
COLBERT, Okla. - Emory Harry Pettry of Colbert, Oklahoma passed away peacefully in the arms of Jesus on December 24, 2016.

Emory was born October 7, 1947 to Mary Opal Whittaker and Emry James Pettry. Emory was an auto-mechanic teacher at R. L. Turner High School in Carrollton, TX for four years and he also taught at Grayson County College for four years. He attended school in West Virginia and then went on to join the Air Force.

He is survived by his wife, Dana Kaye Pettry of the home. His only son, Emory A. and Cathy Pettry of Calera, OK, his four grandchildren, Danielle Vanliew and A.J. Burkett of Blue, OK, Emily and Nathan Hart of Kingston, OK, and Nicky Pettry, his sisters, Marie and Eddie Crews, Jane and Tom Wood, Mary and Howard Mitchem, Barbara Neal, Betty Bibey and Becky Logan. He is preceded in death by his parents, Mary Opal Whittaker and Emry James Pettry.

The ceremony for Emory will be held at Cunningham Funeral Home in Colbert, OK on Thursday, December the 29th at 7 p.m. Eulogy by Carol McBride-Cassell.
