OBITUARY
Melvin Plummer
1934 - 2017

Melvin Plummer of Farmers Branch, Texas passed on to his new life with the Lord on September 20, 2017 at his home in Farmers Branch, Texas. A Memorial Service celebrating his life will be held on October 22, 2017 at 2:30 pm at Christ United Methodist Church, 2807 Valwood Parkway, Farmers Branch, TX 75234. Mel was born on August 30, 1934 the eighth child of Bruce and Margaret (Gray) Plummer. He grew up in Hereford Texas. He joined the U.S. Navy at seventeen, serving during the Korean Conflict. Relocated to Dallas, met the love of his life, married, and raised his family in Farmers Branch, Texas. He enjoyed fishing, traveling, playing forty-two, watching the Dallas Cowboys & Texas Rangers, and sharing many stories about bygone years. His Grandsons would give each story a name as he re-told them. He never let the truth get in the way of a good story. He remembered big. He was an active member of Christ United Methodist Church in Farmers Branch, TX for over fifty years. Mel loved people, loved to joke around with his friends, and had a smile for everyone. Survivors include; wife, Sandy (Culpepper) Plummer, Son, Bruce Plummer of Sachse, Tx, Daughter, Delauna Plummer of Richland Hills, Tx, and two Grandsons, Daniel Plummer of Sherman, Tx, and Andrew Plummer of Rowlett, Tx. Brothers, Ben R. Plummer of Hereford, Tx, Edwin Plummer of Sun City, Az. Sister, Marian Lindell of Saline, Mi and numerous nieces, nephews, and extended family. He was preceded in death by his parents, Bruce Plummer and Margaret (Gray) Plummer; brothers, Allen Plummer, Glen Plummer, Sisters, Helen Manning, Evelyn Francis. Memorials in Mel's name may be made to Christ United Methodist Church in Farmers Branch, Tx.
