OBITUARY
 
Deborah McCallum Jackson Rhodes
September 13, 1956 - December 1, 2023

Deborah Dee (McCallum) Jackson Rhodes, age 67, of Telephone, TX was born on September 13, 1956 in Dallas, TX to Cleo Jim and Martha Amelia (Hooper) McCallum. She passed away on Friday, December 1, 2023 at Texoma Medical Center in Bonham, TX.

Debbie obtained her cosmetology license right after high school, and held numerous occupations from waitressing, making wafers at MEMC, placing decals on gas pumps at Schlumberger, and bookkeeping at various locations including Bonham Cable, Keeton Land Co., Hardy Farms, and ultimately McCraw Materials where she was still employed.

Debbie was known by many for her good southern cooking; and her last dishes were the dressing, deviled eggs, and ham at Thanksgiving this year. She was also known for opening her home to everyone.

Debbie was a published poet and song writer, releasing one song to SONIC Records which her daughter Amy recorded the 2001vocals. Her biggest accomplishment was being called "Mimi/Meme". Debbie loved online shopping, going out to eat and being with family. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, daughter, sister, aunt, and friend.

Debbie is survived by her husband of 31 years, J.R. Rhodes; son Chris Jackson and wife Shannon, daughter Amy Dutrow and husband Nick; stepson Justin Rhodes and wife Megan; grandchildren Aubrey Carpenter, Kayla Bower, Gage Jackson, Dylan Bower, Ally Dutrow, Wyatt Dutrow, Lynleigh Dutrow, Katie Dutrow, Ben Fleming, Joseph Rhodes, Eli Rhodes, and Nicholas Rhodes; great grandchildren Rowdy Beggs, Cora Beggs, and Sadie Beggs; mother Martha McCallum, brother Skip McCallum and wife Raegan, Carl McCallum, and Scott McCallum; numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and extended family and friends.

She is preceded in death by her grandpa Carl Samuel Hooper "Jack", grandma Carrie Dee Hooper "Tootsie", grandma Effie Bell McCallum, Grandpa Leon McCallum Sr., grandson Clayton Jim Jackson, sister-in-law Rhonda McCallum, second cousin Matthew Paul Lehew, numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins.

Visitation will be held Tuesday, December 5, 2023 at Cooper-Sorrells Funeral Home Bonham, TX from 6:00 to 8:00 pm.

The funeral service will be at 2:00 pm on Wednesday, December 6, 2023 at Cooper-Sorrells Funeral Home in Bonham, Texas. Pastor Dennis Troutz will officiate. Interment will follow at Willow Wild Cemetery. Serving as pallbearers will be Stevie Peek, Nick Dutrow, Dylan Bower, Gage Jackson, Carl McCallum, and Chris Jackson. Serving as honorary pallbearers will be Justin Rhodes, Scott McCallum, and Curtis Payne.
