OBITUARY

Edward John Roseler Jr.
November 4, 1947 – November 8, 2016

Edward John Roseler, Jr. slipped the bonds of earth to be with his creator on Tuesday November 08, 2016 from his life in Richardson, Texas. John was born in Buffalo, NY on November 4, 1947. He moved to Texas with the family in the 1950’s, and was a lifelong Texan by choice.
John loved people, he never met a stranger, and was blind to anything beyond the caliber of a person’s heart—regardless of race, religion, sex or lifestyle--if you were a friend, you were a friend. And he had so very many.
Outside of his work selling insurance—including running his own agency—he would find life’s rhythm in music, reveling to the riffs of B.B Kind and the crooning of the Rat Pack.
He found a love of sports, at a young age, and indulged it all his life. He loved hockey, attending Dallas Starts games for years, and baseball, following his beloved Texas Rangers and Boston Red Sox—even from afar. Most of the baseball season would find him huddled with his radio listening to games. Far from the tumult of those passions, he loved the peace and beauty of going to and watching golf tournaments.
From his youth, his heart shone through, as did his character. He took great care of his sisters; even though he was a middle child among four girls. When his dad traveled, John was in charge of keeping all four out of trouble. He did his job as well as could be expected with any brother with four sisters.
John attended Weatherford Junior College in Weatherford, TX and graduated from North Texas State University in Denton in the mid-1970’s.
John was preceded in death by his parents, Edward John Roseler, Sr. and Janet J. Roseler, both of Carrollton, TX.
John, (aka “Bubba”) is survived by his sisters; -: Mary Gay Roseler of Richardson, TX ; Gere’ Roseler Whitener and husband Jay, of Maypearl, TX; Mindy Roseler Choros and her husband Michael, of Middletown, NY; and Barbara (Glidewell) Roseler of Independence, MO.
He loved children his whole life, and never lost the youthfulness in his nature. He was beloved by so many throughout his life—nieces and nephews that were like his own children to him.
“Uncle John” is survived by niece Kimberly Glidewell Caviness of Independence, MO. and nephews Jeff Glidewell and wife Kathy of Lee’s Summit, MO; Kevin Roseler and wife Alysha of Odessa, MO; Eddie Whitener and wife Katie of Ft. Worth, TX; and Michael and Mitch Choros of Middletown, NY.
