 In Memory of
James V. Ruiz Jr.
July 26, 1964 - May 30, 2016
Obituary
James "Junior" V. Ruiz, Jr. was born in Dallas, TX on July 26,
1964 to James and Julia Ruiz. He entered into rest joining his
late mother, Julia Ruiz, and the love of his life, Diana Alicea,
on May 30, 2016 in Garland, TX. James was raised in Carrollton,
TX, where he graduated from R.L. Turner High School, class of
1982. After high school, James attended some college at the
University of North Texas. He started working for the United
States Postal Service in 1984 and dedicated the last 30 years of
his life there. He enjoyed following in his father's footsteps
and the time that he spent at the USPS.
James loved attending rock concerts, baseball games, collecting
records, and was a true Dallas Cowboys and Texas Rangers fan.
James will be remembered for being a simple and charming man
with a sense of humor that kept everyone laughing, but what will
be missed most is his genuine, selfless, loving, and perfect
personality that was loved by everyone who knew him.
James is survived by his father, James Ruiz; Diana's daughters,
Erica Danette Alicea and Ariane Alicea Madison, her husband
Matthew Madison, and their children; and his siblings, Raul
Bernal and his wife Sherry, Frances Bernal, Gilbert Bernal and
his wife Candy, and Rosemary Campbell and her husband Reggie.
James was a loving and proud Uncle to his 3 nieces, 3 nephews, 3
great nieces, and 3 great nephews.
Memorial services will take place at Calvary Funeral Home in
Dallas, TX on Sunday, June 5, 2016. Visitation will begin at
3:00 PM and funeral services will begin at 4:00 PM. Interment
will take place at a later date.
