Richard Ruiz, age 66, of Hebron, passed away Friday, February 14, 2014, at his home. He was born December 21, 1947 in Dallas to Nieves Garza Ruiz and Martha Ramero Ruiz. Richard married Deborah Culpepper on December 10, 1977 in Hebron. He retired after 40 years of service at the Carrollton-Farmers Branch Independent School District.
Richard is survived by his wife, Deborah; children, Brian Ruiz and wife, Tracy and Stacie Ruiz; two grandchildren, Kaleb Ruiz and Bodee Ruiz; and siblings, Ronnie Ruiz, Ramon Ruiz, Ruth Bell, Rebecca Mulkey and Rual Ruiz. Richard was preceded in death by one son, Christopher Ruiz in 1989 and by his parents.
Funeral service will be held 2:00 p.m. Monday, February 17, 2014, at First Baptist Church in Hebron. Interment will follow at Furneaux Cemetery in Carrollton. The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:000 p.m. Sunday at Mulkey-Mason Funeral Home in Lewisville. The family requests memorial contributions to be made to the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation for Children.
