Arley Joe Short, 78, went to be with his Lord and Savior and beloved wife of 52 years on Sunday, May 31, 2015. Funeral: 11:30 a.m. Friday in Greenwood Chapel. Interment: 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, June 9, in Dallas-Fort Worth National Cemetery. Visitation: 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday at Greenwood. Papa Joe was born April 1, 1937, in Pottsboro. At the age of 19, he married the love of his life, Joan. He was a loving daddy, "Papa," uncle, brother and devoted husband. He will be greatly missed by all who had the pleasure of loving and knowing him. Papa Joe was preceded in death by his loving wife. Survivors: Children, Joey Short and Joyce Hurley; five grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; two sisters; one brother; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
